Internships

Stormwater Education Intern

Accepting applications for spring 2020.

Interns selected will help to organize and staff community volunteer opportunities related to Reef Relief’s Stormwater Education Program.

The Stormwater Education Program internship duties includes four main components:

-Recruiting and organizing volunteers

-Distributing stormwater education door hangers to Key West residents

-Stenciling awareness messages around local storm drains

-Organizing and leading marine debris removal projects (both land and water based)

You will also be familiar with the following areas:

-Fieldwork for the Key West Marine Park

-Operation of Reef Relief’s environmental center

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have a strong background in marine/environmental science and conservation.

Education Intern

Accepting applications for Fall and Spring 2019 and 2020

Interns selected will help to organize and staff events, promote Reef Relief and its programs, present classroom lessons on marine science, help run Spring Break Coral Camp and work on marine field projects as needed.  This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in marine education and conservation as well as marketing and event planning.

You will become familiar with the following areas:

•                Environmental education for children and adults

•                Operation of Reef Relief’s environmental center

•                Field work in marine conservation

•                Planning, organizing special events, marketing, fundraising

Qualifications

Applicants must have a degree in marine science or education or be actively seeking one.

Coral Camp Education Intern (closed)

June- Mid August

Interns selected will present classroom lessons on marine science and provide program support for the summer Coral Camp for Kids Program for kids 6-12 years of age. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in marine education and conservation.   

You will become familiar with the following areas:

·      Marine and Environmental education for children

·      Operation of Reef Relief’s environmental center

·      Fieldwork for the Key West Marine Park

·      Marketing, fundraising, planning and organizing special events

Qualifications

Applicants must have a degree in marine science and/or education, or the applicant must be actively seeking one.

Reef Relief is a non-profit organization so all internships are unpaid, and housing is not provided.
