Science Fair hosted at the Captain Roland Roberts House
On Friday, May 28, 2004, Maria Schrack's 6th grade students at the Amy Roberts Elementary School on Green Turtle Cay, Abacos, Bahamas, hosted a Science Fair at the Captain Roland Roberts House Environmental Center. For two weeks, the students have been working with Reef Relief's Craig Quirolo to prepare their science projects. Five science exhibits were created, each with an activity or educational game accompanying it. The project topics included recycling, sea stars, ocean currents, conch, and shells.

The students set up the exhibits at the Captain Roland Roberts House Environmental Center and prepared their oral presentations. Next, groups of younger students from the school toured the center and were given presentations by the 6th graders as they stopped at each exhibit. A question and answer period was included in each presentation and the older students taught the young students. Many parents also came by to see the exhibits and the project was declared a success. Many thanks to Ms. Maria and all the students who worked so hard on their projects and did such an excellent job.

The exhibits are now on display in the children's activity room of the Capt. Roberts House Environmental Center which is open to the public daily Monday through Saturday.
