The Wood Stork
Wood Storks are the only Storks native to North America. They are 35-45 inches long (not including legs) with a 60-65 inch wingspread. Because they do not travel far over large bodies of water, they are rare in the Keys. Also, their special feeding technique, called groping, requires high concentrations of fish. They are the most endangered wading birds in Florida.
