Well-known in Key West as the Locals' Party of the Year, Reef Relief's annual food and music festival, Cayo Carnival, is set for Saturday, November 18 at East Martello Garden from 4pm until midnight.
Now in its 14th year, Cayo Carnival 2000 raises funds to support Reef Relief, the long-standing grassroots environmental organization dedicated to protecting living coral reefs.

This year's entertainment promises something for everyone and includes Latin salsa from Caribe, high-powered reggae from Inner Revolution, the popular Regulators, and as a special treat, the reunion of the Survivors, Key West's legendary home town band. Thirty of Key West's best restaurants will be serving up portions of their mouthwatering specialties. Once again, Bacardi USA and Silver Eagle Distributors will be attending to the thirsty in the crowd. Cayo Carnival will feature a Kid's Korner of games and activities for the whole family from 4pm until dusk, and the biggest raffle of the year with scores of fabulous prizes. Free transportation from designated locations around the island will be provided by the Conch Tour Train and Old Town Trolley. |

Admission will be $15 at the gate with advance tickets available for $10 prior to the day of the event. Raffle tickets for $1 each (or 6 for $5) are available at the Reef Relief Gift Shop at the foot of William Street.
Cayo Carnival is the single biggest annual fundraising party in the Florida Keys with 100% of the proceeds going to support the local programs of Reef Relief, working to save one of the world's great treasures - North America's only living coral reef. Especially in light of the recent water quality crisis in the Florida Keys, the continued work of Reef Relief is crucial to the environmental and economic health of the Florida Keys.
Current Reef Relief programs include the Coral Reef Conservation Program, the Photo Monitoring Survey of Key West area reefs which has led to the discovery and study of new coral diseases, a Coral Nursery Project that saves corals which otherwise would be covered in sedimentation after storm events, a No Discharge Zone (NDZ) public information campaign, the Discover Coral Reefs School Outreach Program and the operation of our Environmental Center & Gift Shop, which is headquarters for our regional and international programs to increase awareness and concern for protecting coral reefs. These are just a few of the ongoing Reef Relief programs.
